February 27, Day minus 2:
We are looking forward to another exotic trip and to escaping the cold, wet weather of Portland, OR. We are prepped for a family-oriented trip to Tahiti, to celebrate significant birthdays. Namely, Betsy's sister Catherine is reaching 70; my sister Elaine has reached 75, and Betsy is celebrating her 72 today. A lot of sevens is this group. Also attending the trip are our younger generations, nephew Brent and niece Stephanie and their son Logan, age 2 years, 10 months. This is your key to the abbreviations - CP is Catherine, ET is Elaine, EP is Betsy, PT (or me) is me, BS, SS and LS is Brent, Stephanie and Logan, respectively.
We all meet up in Los Angeles, CA (at LAX) on Thursday, March 1st late in the day and then fly to Papeete, Tahiti overnight. ET flew to Portland today and is then joining EP and PT on Thursday for flight from Portland to LA. Everyone else is flying from their respective home towns to LA on March 1.
We spend the first 5 days in Moorea, then have a 10-day/night cruise on the ship Paul Gauguin, and then 5 more days at a resort on Tahiti before flying home on March 21, arriving on March 22. The ship accommodates 330 guests in 165 cabins. We are expecting 70 to 80 degree temperatures, with sunshine. No rain jackets nor umbrellas are going.
I may blog a bit but probably not every day. I hope to take lots of photos.
As always, if you would prefer not to receive email messages announcing a new blog post, please let me know via email (pratthor@gmail.com) and I will remove your name from the distribution.
Cheers!!!
